How much does parking lot striping cost?

Pricing varies based on a number of factors, such as the condition of the asphalt or concrete, property location, and work timing. Please be sure to include the address of your project in your bid request, as this is essential to making any type of estimate.

Generally, here in Colorado, parking lot paint can last anywhere from one to five years, depending on traffic and the condition of the asphalt. We recommend striping high-traffic areas annually. Less frequently used parking areas, such as church parking lots, may last up to five years depending on the condition of the asphalt.

White is the color most commonly used for parking lot lines, which is part of the reason we named our business “White Stripes.” White provides good contrast with the dark shade of asphalt, so it is easier for drivers to see when parking their vehicles.

Other businesses choose the color yellow for their parking lot lines. Yellow is a color that catches drivers’ attention and can be easier to see in wet or snowy conditions.

Blue lines are often used to identify accessible parking spaces for individuals with disabilities, including wheelchair users.

Here in Colorado, we recommend scheduling your parking lot to be painted between late spring and early fall. Cold weather during the winter months can make it difficult to apply paint properly to your parking lot.

Most DOT-approved parking lot paints require the minimum temperature to be at least 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit to cure properly. The temperatures of both the air and your parking lot’s surface must meet the minimum requirement stated by the paint manufacturer.

That being said, this is Colorado! If you’ve lived here for any length of time, you know the weather can vary significantly day to day. If it’s winter, and you desperately need to have your parking lot re-striped, please contact us at 719.203.1903 or info@whitestripesparking.com. It’s possible there might be a warmer, sunnier day in the forecast when we can squeeze in your project, or we can try to get on our schedule for the spring before those spots fill up.

It depends on the conditions. We generally use a high-quality, DOT-approved traffic marking paint that is designed to tolerate UV light, temperature swings, and traffic. This parking lot paint is resistant to chemicals and dirt, which makes it adhere well to concrete and asphalt surfaces.

The ADA requires each parking lot or garage to have a certain number of accessible parking spaces, based on the total number of parking spaces provided. For example, a lot with fewer than 26 parking spaces is required to have only one accessible parking space. To see how many spaces your parking lot or garage is required to have, see the ADA’s online resource.

As soon as possible! No matter the time of year, it’s best to fix your potholes as soon as they begin to develop. If ignored, potholes can grow rapidly. The wider and deeper they become, the more hazardous they will be to pedestrians and vehicles alike, and the more costly they will be to repair.

We fix potholes, repair cracks, and do sealcoating, a service that increases the longevity of your asphalt. At this time, we do not offer milling or paving services.

Yes, even though most of our clients are commercial property owners or managers, we do offer crack sealing and sealcoating for residential asphalt driveways. You’ll get commercial-quality work at an affordable rate, all from an insured contractor.

Here in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado, cold winter temperatures cause pavement to contract, and cracks open to their widest. During the warmer summer months, the pavement expands and closes the cracks.

The best times for crack sealing are when cracks are only open midway, during the spring and fall seasons. In addition, the pavement must be dry to ensure an effective seal.
